Arcebispo de Salvador ressalta importância de buscar a santidade
“Que a beatificação de Irmã Dulce seja um apelo para buscarmos, todos juntos, a santidade!”. Esse é o desejo do Arcebispo de Salvador (BA), Dom Murilo Krieger, para a cerimônia que acontece no dia 22, a partir das 12h, no Parque de Exposições da capital baiana.

Segundo o prelado, o grande preparativo para o momento é espiritual, pois a Arquidiocese espera que a beatificação seja um 'Kairos', palavra grega que significa 'tempo da graça de Deus'. “Todos nós estamos envolvidos, trabalhando muito para a cerimônia. Mas esse momento passa, o queremos que fique marcado é o apelo à santidade”, declarou.

Dom Murilo acredita que Salvador ganhou um privilégio que poucas dioceses do país tiveram para mostrar que ser santo na atualidade é possível. “Durante muito tempo pensou-se que a santidade era algo do passado ou que acontecia só na Europa. Agora temos alguém que viveu na nossa cidade, atendeu doentes concretos e que a Igreja apresenta como modelo. Uma mulher frágil, pequena e limitada, mas que conseguiu porque fez a vontade de Deus”, completou o bispo.

As gestões oficiais para a instalação do processo de beatificação e canonização de Irmã Dulce foram iniciadas em 1999, com a concessão do 'Nihil Obstat', documento que a Santa Sé disponibiliza decretando não existir impedimento para a introdução da causa.

Em 2000, foi realizada a abertura do Processo Canônico sobre a sua vida, virtudes e fama de santidade. A graça obtida pela intercessão de Irmã Dulce, em 2003, foi examinada primeiramente no Brasil e reconhecida pelos peritos médicos como um caso que não pôde ser explicado pelos meios da ciência. Os peritos e os cardeais da Congregação para as Causas dos Santos foram unânimes no reconhecimento deste milagre, constando que se tratava de um caso extraordinário de cura.

Em abril de 2009, foram reconhecidas suas virtudes heroicas e ela foi declarada Venerável pelo Vaticano. Em junho de 2010, seu corpo foi exumado e transferido junto às suas relíquias, últimos atos antes da beatificação.

“Irmã Dulce é um ícone! Salvador tem mais de 460 anos e passaram por lá pessoas ilustres da política e também celebridades. Entretanto, uma humilde religiosa, profundamente frágil fisicamente, é apresentada como modelo e sua figura é ressaltada”, enfatizou Dom Murilo.

Essa é a segunda vez que o bispo de Salvador presencia de perto o caminho rumo á santidade de uma pessoa. Em 2002, o prelado participou da cerimônia de canonização de Santa Madre Paulina, italiana que veio para o Brasil aos nove anos e exerceu seu ministério de amor aos doentes, órfãos e idosos em Santa Catarina. Na época, ele era Arcebispo de Florianópolis.

“É como se Deus falasse para mim: 'Você é frágil, limitado, mas coloco ao seu lado pessoas que podem mostrar a força da Minha graça'. Espero que essa beatificação da Irmã Dulce comova o coração dos fiéis para que eles se voltem aos pobres. Além do seu testemunho de amor ao Pai, a religiosa deixou uma obra gigantesca que não vive sem a colaboração daqueles que amam o 'Anjo bom da Bahia'”, concluiu Dom Murilo.

Já está disponível para download a novena de Irmã Dulce. O material é composto de nove encontros de oração que apresentam a vida da religiosa como exemplo para quem busca um encontro íntimo com Deus. Segundo a Arquidiocese de Salvador (BA), a novena deve ter seu início sempre no dia 13, terminando no 21 de cada mês.

Archbishop of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil Stresses the Importance of Seeking Holiness In Light of the Beatification of Sister Dulce.
That the beatification of Sister Dulce may be an appeal for us to seek holiness together!” this is the desire of the Archbishop of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, His Excellency Murilo Krieger, looking forward to the ceremony that will happen next Sunday the Park of Expositions of the Capital of Bahia State.

Archbishop Murilo believes that Salvador won a privilege that few diocese of the country had to show that be holy in reality is possible. “During much time, it was thought that holiness was something that passed or that happens only in Europe. Now we have someone that lived in our city, attended real patients and the Church presents her as a model. A fragile woman, small and limited, but she succeeded because she did the will of God” complimented the Archbishop.
The official actions for the installation of the process of beatification and canonization of Sister Dulce were initiated in 1999 with the giving of the ‘Nihil Obstat’, document that the Holy See decreed there does not exist an impediment to the introduction of the cause.
In 2000, the opening of the Canonical Process was realized on her life, virtues and reputation of holiness. The grace obtained through the intercession of Sister Dulce, in 2003, was examined first in Brazil and recognized through medical experts as a case that could not be explained through the media of science. The merits and the Cardinals of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints were united in recognizing this miracle, consisting in treating it as a case of an extraordinary cure.
In April of 2009, her heroic virtues were recognized and she was declared Venerable by the Vatican. In June of 2010, her body was exhumed and transferred along with her relics, the last acts before beatification.

This is the second time that the Archbishop of Salvador was present close to the road of holiness for a person. In 2002, the prelate participated in the ceremony of canonization of Holy Mother Paulina, an Italian woman who came to Brazil at nine years old and exercised her ministry of love among the sick, orphans and elderly in Santa Catarina [Southern Brazil] in the time he was the Archbishop of Florianopolis in Brazil.
“And as if God spoke to me: you are fragil, limited, but put at your side person that can show the strength of My grace’. I hope that this beatification of Sister Dulce will touch the heart of the faithful in order that they may turn to the poor. The material is composed of nine prayer retreats that present the life of the religious woman as an example for whom may see and intimate encounter with God. According to the Archdiocese of Salvador, the novena should begin always on the 13th and end on the 21st of each month.
