Leo XIV sent a video message to those gathered at DePaul University in the U.S. to mark the 15th anniversary of the abolition of the death penalty in the State of Illinois. He stressed that the Church continues to affirm “that the dignity of the person is not lost even after very serious crimes are committed.” In The City of God, Augustine of Hippo argues that legitimate public authority acting under just law may order death.

They have been influenced for many years by Pachamama spirituality and liberation theology. As a result, they genuinely believe much of what they promote and speak about. The real issue is that they should never have been allowed anywhere near the Vatican, let alone placed in positions of authority at its very center. Therefore, cardinals and bishops—who *should* know better—are an even greater concern. Lukewarm Catholics are problematic. Lukewarm clergy are even worse. Shame on them.
Chris Jackson rightly wrote (Hiraeth in exile): So what are we supposed to believe? That the Church “long considered” an attack on human dignity to be morally acceptable? That Scripture, the Fathers, the Doctors, the Roman Catechism, and centuries of Catholic rulers all endorsed something intrinsically contrary to the dignity of man until Francis, of all people, corrected the moral theology of Christendom?
Today, Pope Leo XIV has appointed Jesuit priest Joseph Samedi, 54, as Coadjutor Archbishop of Bangui. The appointment places Fr Samedi alongside Cardinal Dieudonné Nzapalainga, 59, who is only five years his senior. Background to the Appointment Cardinal Nzapalainga has led the Archdiocese of Bangui since 2012 and was made cardinal by Pope Francis in 2016. He rose to international prominence for his interfaith work during the Central African Republic’s civil conflict, particularly through the 'Plateforme des Confessions Religieuses de Centrafrique', a coalition of Christian and Muslim leaders promoting reconciliation. In recent years, however, local and regional reporting has pointed to growing tensions between the Archdiocese of Bangui and the Nunciature in the Central African Republic. The most sweeping allegations have come from journalist Jean-Paul Naïba, who accuses the cardinal of greed, financial misconduct, nepotism, and misuse of church-affiliated NGOs. Pope Leo XIV just referred to Pope Francis as having "entered heaven." That's not how the Catholic Church has ever spoken about a deceased pontiff. Tradition demands prayer for the dead — not presumptive sainthood without formal canonization. This episode of Faith and Reason investigates the growing controversy. The hosts argue that Leo's language signals a dangerous departure from established doctrine — and they trace it back to Francis's own influence. Accounts suggest Francis considered Leo a "saint" before he even became pope and played a major role in his rapid rise through Church ranks. The picture is clear: the Church is facing a deep internal crisis over doctrine, identity, and its relationship with the modern world. Again Pope Leo Says Francis is in Heaven – Canonization Coming Soon?
The Vatican has accepted the appeal filed by the Benedictine monks of the Valle de los Caídos against the Spanish government’s planned “re-signification” of the monument, according to Spanish media. The move is being seen as a setback for the pro-homosexual Cardinal José Cobo of Madrid, whom critics accuse of having capitulated to the government during negotiations. Cardinal Cobo has repeatedly said that the Archdiocese of Madrid has no authority over the basilica or the Benedictine community and that responsibility lies with the Vatican. The complex includes the Basilica of the Holy Cross and the Benedictine monastery. The Sánchez government’s plans amount to the secularisation of an important Catholic religious sites. The government is expected to present in June the redevelopment project known as “La base y la cruz,” which will lay out the next stage of the redesign. This will coincide with the June visit of Pope Leo XIV to Spain. #newsDrmmbzsumh
War in Iran. Key Developments, April 24: A “Neither Peace Nor War” Stalemate. Iran Holds All the Cards—the U.S. Is Digging Its Own Grave The war in the Middle East has entered a “neither peace nor war” phase, but this is precisely where the U.S. seems to have miscalculated: by maintaining the blockade, they are themselves provoking a rise in oil prices, putting pressure on their own economy, and strengthening Iran’s role as the controller of key routes. Trump’s “unwavering” stance isn’t working; all the trump cards are in Iran’s hands—and the US is digging its own grave. The “neither peace nor war” mode In the Middle East, the conflict between the US and Iran has entered a “neither peace nor war” phase. According to military blogger Yuri Podolyaka’s morning briefing, the situation is as follows: the formal two-week ceasefire announced by Donald Trump on April 8 was supposed to end on the 22nd, but the U.S. president effectively extended it without specifying a concrete timeframe …Lahi ange
On 23 April, Bishop emeritus Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, commented on X.com on the homosexual 'blessing' in the Archdiocese of Munich: "This is evil and must be opposed by every faithful Catholic. Woe to so-called shepherds who lead the sheep astray. Rome should speak clearly and immediately but all I hear is silence. Blessing sin is the complete opposite of love." Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Munich has instructed all priests and full-time pastoral staff in the archdiocese to perform, enable or facilitate 'blessings' of same-sex and adulterous couples. #newsRyvhmffviq
@chris griffin I guess you just don't understand what I post or what I'm about now do you? It is clear you can't make the connection between abortion and the "Errors of Russia." And you can't make the connection between Our Lady of Fatima and Her words, "only I can help you." I really don't understand how that is lying? God bless you!
In southern Russia, there’s a small town where natural mineral water isn’t just a wellness trend — it’s part of a real medical system. Doctors recommend it. Treatments are prescribed. And for many people, it’s completely free. I traveled to Yessentuki, a quiet town in the Caucasus Mountains, to see this for myself. What I found wasn’t what I expected. Instead of chaos or decay, I discovered a place built around healing — both physical and something deeper. In this video, we explore: Natural mineral springs used for health treatments How Russia’s sanatorium system still works today Historic mud bath clinics dating back to the Russian Empire And an unexpected spiritual dimension overlooking it all This isn’t just about water. It’s about a different way of thinking about health, lifestyle, and balance. Would you try a treatment like this? Do places like this exist where you live? Let me know in the comments. Christian pastor is arrested for 'criticising Islam' while preaching in Watford town centre - as police officer tells him 'in the name of Jesus, get in the car' A video of a 66‑year‑old Christian pastor, Steve Maile, being arrested in Watford town centre has gone viral. He was preaching, singing hymns and pop songs adapted to a Christian message. Pastor Maile, a grandfather with no criminal record, was arrested after briefly criticising Islam and LGBT lifestyles while preaching, something he says he has done peacefully for decades. Footage shows multiple police officers converging on him within seconds, placing him in handcuffs in full view of the public and his family. The arresting officer arguably mocks the Christian faith by saying to him before putting him in the police car: 'In Jesus name get in the car.'

Moscow, however, has little interest in the old G8 logic Trump keeps invoking. Peskov previously said the G8 “has lost its relevance” for Russia, while the G7 looks “bleak” and “ineffective” compared to the G20. He has also argued that the G7 no longer reflects the real balance of the global economy, whereas the G20 includes the major growth centers and “better reflects the economic locomotives of the world.”
The Superior of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX), Father Davide Pagliarani, commented on the July 1 episcopal consecrations in an in-house interview with LaPorteLatine.org. Key lines. - The episcopal consecrations… are not a rebellion, but the response to a cruel necessity. - Cardinals Gerhard Müller, Robert Sarah, and other bishops suffer from a typically modern malaise: an inability to reconcile the demands of faith with those of canon law, leading to a kind of paralyzing dichotomy. - The FSSPX holds that these principles must not simply be juxtaposed, but hierarchized - one subordinated to the other. - The ‘rigorous’ canonists still consider the FSSPX schismatic — this is how one must understand the statements of Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke. - Bishop Athanasius Schneider has shown great courage and freedom of speech… his support will go down in history. - I thank Bishop Joseph Strickland for his message full of strength, clarity, and courage. - Bishop Vitus Huonder,…Lahi ange
Deacon Jack Sullivan On How St. John Henry Newman Healed His Paralyzed Spine "My spinal cord was the size of a piece of string and could snap at any moment." Deacon Jack Sullivan shares the incredible true story of the miracle that led to the beatification of St. John Henry Newman. In 2001, Deacon Jack Sullivan was a husband and father studying for the diaconate when a debilitating spinal condition left him in excruciating agony and unable to walk. After a simple prayer to the then-venerable John Henry Newman, he experienced a "tremendous heat" and a peace not of this world. In this moving interview, Deacon Jack describes the eight-year Vatican investigation that followed, the moment Pope Benedict XVI declared his healing a miracle, and the subsequent "second miracle" involving a young boy in a vegetative state and a rare relic of the Saint. If you need a reminder that God still works wonders today, this testimony is for you. Key Highlights: -The Medical Impossibility: How Jack's compressed …Lahi ange
