DD Geopolitics @DD_Geopolitics Head of the Margaliot settlement on how Israel treats its northern residents: "We've become cannon fodder. Second-class citizens." He says the government has done the math and it's cheaper to pay compensation if a few settlers die than to evacuate and support thousands of people.
Butorac to pripisuje problémom s lístkami a neorganizovaným radom. Krátko pred začiatkom eucharistie však bol povolený vstup bez lístkov a všetci mohli vstúpiť.

By now nearly everyone knows about this scandal and we have not heard a sound Catholic reaction from any high ranking clerics of our Church. Instead it is as if we have omertà ruling rather than Truth.

This is the priest who died on the Titanic to hear confessions and administer last rites. Given the opportunity to board a lifeboat on two separate occasions, Father Thomas Byles firmly declined. He chose instead to stay behind, absolving sins and consoling the doomed passengers. Following the vessel's collision with the iceberg, he assembled the remaining crowds on the aft deck. Those who lived through the disaster recalled him standing bravely amid the panic, listening to confessions, granting collective absolution, and reciting the Rosary right up until the ocean claimed the stern. This is the type of story we should elevate, heroic virtue. May the Lord bless us with more holy men possessing the courage of Father Thomas Byles.

Hundreds of empty seats during Leo XIV’s Easter Vigil: Matt Butorac, a Catholic pilgrimage guide, reported on X that there were “hundreds of empty seats” during the Easter Vigil at St Peter’s Basilica. The screenshots, taken from a video he shared for "those claiming it was not empty", show the basilica during the baptisms. Butorac attributes this to ticketing issues and disorganised queues. However, shortly before the Eucharist began, entry was permitted without tickets and everyone was able to enter.
EMTY SEATS: Catholic Traveler had a video on X.com from yesterday's Easter Night Eucharist with Leo XIV. Screenshots (fair use)
@sp2 I see your point and you could be correct. The published pic on this site showed less than a dozen empty seats which were probably in the back of the church. Unfortunately, too many media-types on both sides of any issue are inclined to push a narrative rather than inform their readers.
@sp2 perhaps you should share with us the specific time-mark in the vid you posted where it contradicts the conclusion that there were “hundreds of empty seats” during the service. The posted vid appears to only capture the seating in the front of the church.

Are these photos of a traditionalist Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church? No, the man pictured wearing a cappa magna is the Most Rev. Idris Jones, the former Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church in communion with Canterbury (that is, he is an Anglican prelate).
