Polish MP Accuses Cardinal Dziwisz of "Inappropriate Relationship"
Michał Kamiński, a member of the Polish Senate, claimed on the December 7 "Rachunek Sumienia" ("Examination of Conscience") podcast that Cardinal Dziwisz bought an expensive apartment in Krakow's historic district for Nardotto.
Although Kamiński did not explicitly name the two individuals, the context strongly implied the two.
Kamiński referred to media photos showing "a well-known Polish hierarch holding hands with his Italian friend". He claimed that "an entire city in Poland is now talking about an apartment bought for the Italian friend, by the said well-known Polish hierarch."
The politician used the story to criticize the Church for ignoring the alleged relationship while publicly maintaining a strict moral code. "And everyone knows about it", Kamiński said.
The initial allegations date back to May 2019, when Polish media reported on an alleged inappropriate relationship between Cardinal Dziwisz and Nardotto. They referred to a photo of them holding hands while wearing liturgical vestments.
Both men denied the allegations at the time.
In a statement published on Misericors.org (May 28, 2019), Dziwisz called the accusations "misleading". Despite the media interest, no substantive evidence has emerged, and the claims remain unverified.
