Cardinal Francis Leo of Toronto, Canada, is implementing 'Traditionis Custodes', effective next Sunday.
VoxCantor.blogspot.com published a terrifying detail: One Sunday per month, the Novus Ordo must be said.
At the parish St. Vincent, the old high altar will be used. At the parish Holy Family the Novus Ordo will be presided over with the back to God facing the people.
And: No other sacraments are permitted according to the 1962 usage.
There are four major parish churches in the Archdiocese of Toronto celebrating the Roman rite:
- St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish — Scarborough
- St. Patrick’s Parish — Schomberg
- Holy Family Parish — Toronto
- St. Vincent de Paul Parish — Toronto
The Masses at Schomberg and Scarborough have existed for over 40 years.
All four parishes have sufficient Novus Ordo Eucharists in various languages.

Archdiocese of Chicago Settles 9 Sex Abuse Claims, Paying $5.4M
The Archdiocese of Chicago recently settled out of court with nine people who accused eight Chicago-area priests of sexually abusing them decades ago.
The settlements, totaling $5.4 million, were all reached in the last two weeks, according to the attorneys representing the victims.
“Nobody’s paying that kind of money for something that didn’t happen,” said Marc Pearlman, one of the victim’s attorneys, during a Thursday news conference announcing the settlements. “This is validation that it happened.”
The allegations date as far back as the early 1970s and as recently as the late 1990s. The victims’ ages at the time of the abuse ranged from 6 to 14 years old.

Bishop Schneider: Document Against Co-Redemptrix Will One Day Be Cancelled
Synodality is a “very cunning code word to undermine Catholic doctrine”, Bishop Athanasius Schneider told AdVaticanum on September 10.
He believes the vagueness of the word is deliberate, a means of gradually adapting Catholic doctrine, morality and ecclesial structures to Protestantism and contemporary attitudes toward sexuality.
Monsignor Schneider calls synodality the height of the modernist movement, leading toward relativism. He adds that this openness has one notable exception: the traditional Latin Mass.
“This document will be cancelled”
Responding to the document Mater Populi Fidelis against the Marian titles Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix of All Graces, Bishop Schneider argues that the Church cannot cancel language found in missals and used by popes, saints and Doctors of the Church.
He believes the document, not the titles, will eventually disappear: “I think, in the future, this document will be cancelled.” …

Leo’s Pontifical Academy for Life: Catholics Can Morally Assent to “Imperfect Laws” Allowing Assisted Suicide
Archbishop Renzo Pegoraro heads the Pontifical Academy for Life. Leo appointed him president barely three weeks after his election in May 2025, despite Pegoraro’s already public record of treating contraception and assisted suicide as morally negotiable under certain circumstances. Leo then promoted him again in March 2026, making him a bishop with the personal title of archbishop.
So this one belongs directly at Leo’s door.
On September 6, Avvenire asked Pegoraro about assisted-suicide legislation in Italy.
Pegoraro said Catholics might face an “imperfect law” permitting assisted suicide “to which it would nevertheless be moral to give one’s assent,” on the theory that still worse legislation might otherwise pass.
That is an astonishing thing for the president of the Pontifical Academy for Life to say.

"God Has Become Bread" - Leo XIV Reverses Subject and Object
“God has become bread” (Dio che si è fatto pane), Leo XIV said on September 5 during an audience with the Perpetual Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament.
Taken literally, the words suggest the heresy of impanation: the divine Word united to bread that remains bread, somewhat analogously to the Incarnation.
Catholic doctrine is transubstantiation. After consecration, the substance of bread no longer remains. It is not God who becomes bread, but bread that becomes Christ’s Body.
The favorable interpretation is that Leo XIV is using devotional or metaphorical language.
Benedict XVI used similar language. In 2008, he said that Christ si è fatto pane (“became bread”), and in 2005 spoke of the Host nella quale Gesù per noi si è fatto pane (“in which Jesus became bread for us”).

Cardinal: Traditional Mass Must Yield to Church Unity
“I do deeply sympathise with people whose love of the Tridentine Mass has led them into tension with the hierarchy,” pro-homosexual Cardinal Timothy Radcliffe claimed talking to AdVaticanum.com on August 31.

Leo XIV announced that Honggang Liu, 55, was consecrated a Bishop for the Chinese Diocese of Datong on August 31.
ChinaCatholic.cn admitted today that Liu was elected bishop-designate of Datong on 28 April 2026. Vatican.va wrote today that Leo XIV did not formally appoint him until 10 August. Thus, Liu was selected unilaterally through the Chinese process more than three months before the papal appointment.

Worse than Germany: A memorial ceremony for Buddhist woman Marta Pezzati, 59, was held on August 20 in the Catholic Church of San Martino in Rebbio, Como, Italy.
Pezzati was president of the volunteer association Como Accoglie and was well known locally for her work assisting migrants and refugees.
