Worse than Germany: Funeral held in Paris Archdiocese for prominent actor who was killed by euthanasia. French actor Arnaud Denis was killed by euthanasia in Belgium on September 22, aged 43. He received a Catholic funeral at Saint-Roch Church in Paris on October 1. Denis had been seriously ill for about three years. His health collapsed after a routine hernia operation in 2023, during which a surgical mesh implant was placed in his body. He suffered severe pain, lost significant weight and developed debilitating health problems that eventually left him disabled. The implant was later removed, but his health did not recover. He requested euthanasia in Belgium and made his plans publicly known in January. According to TribuneChrétienne.com, Saint-Roch confirmed that Denis was a baptized Catholic and that the funeral was held at his request and that of his family. Vatican Synod commission proposes “complete revision” of canon law — including marriages without a priest. A 10-member Canonical Commission established as part of the Vatican’s Synod on Synodality has published today proposals to reshape canon law. The report says that in the long term there is an “obvious need for a complete revision” of the Codes.
