Cardinal Baldassarre Reina, Vicar General for the Diocese of Rome, refused permission for the Catholic funeral of Bruno Battisti D’Amario, a guitarist and senior figure in Italian freemasonry. D’Amario, who died on August 5 aged 88, was known for his collaboration with Ennio Morricone and played guitar on famous soundtracks including A Fistful of Dollars, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and Once Upon a Time in the West. His funeral had initially been approved at Santa Maria in Montesanto, Rome’s “Church of the Artists.” After his death, however, the Grand Orient of Italy revealed that D’Amario had held significant roles within freemasonry. He had founded a Roman lodge, composed the organization’s official anthem, and held several senior positions. Church officials had allegedly been unaware of his Masonic involvement when approving the funeral. After the information emerged, the basilica’s rector, Archbishop Antonio Staglianò, referred the matter to Cardinal Reina. Following consultation …Higit pa
This should not be news. It’s news because of the new normal in the Church. Everyone gets a funeral, everyone is saved. That’s not what Christ taught and died for.

Bishop Mark A. Eckman, 67, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will bring an end to the traditional Latin Mass at St. Titus Church in Aliquippa after nearly 20-years. Bishop Eckman was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Pittsburgh in 2021. In June 2025, Leo XIV promoted him to Bishop of Pittsburgh. In a letter dated 7 August (see below), Monsignor Eckman announced that the final Mass to be held at St. Titus using the 1962 Missal is scheduled for 4 September. The remaining two traditional Latin Masses in Pittsburgh are offered by the Institute Christ the King in Brighton Heights and by the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X in the West End. Bishop Eckman said his predecessor, Bishop David A. Zubik, received Vatican permission in 2022 to continue the Mass at St. Titus. The initial two-year authorization was extended in September 2024 for another two years. The Bishop didn't seek another extension, “The permission to celebrate according to the older ritual in a parish church was only ever meant to be …Higit pa
On 6 August, Italian journalist David Murgia published the results of a confidential 2016 consultation within the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith concerning the alleged apparitions at Medjugorje on IlSegnoDiGiona.com. Two Thirds of the Congregation said Medjugorje was NOT Supernatural According to Murgia, 33 participants were asked to provide written opinions, or 'vota', on the Medjugorje phenomenon. Murgia reports the following results (17 September 2016): 21 participants chose 'constat de non supernaturalitate' (not of supernatural origin). 9 participants chose 'constat de supernaturalitate' (supernatural origin). 3 chose 'non constat de supernaturalitate' (the supernatural character has not been established). Brigitte Stegemann was an 83-year-old great-grandmother and a Christian. On July 10, she died through Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program in Ontario. Diagnosed with terminal Stage IV stomach cancer, Stegemann had wanted to die naturally. But while her granddaughter and longtime legal representative, Brigitte Kranendonk, was away on vacation, medical personnel discussed MAiD with Stegemann. She was subsequently deemed capable of choosing MAiD despite allegedly being unable to answer basic questions about her own family. Canadian Catholic News reported that Kranendonk said her grandmother had originally rejected MAiD but was persuaded to request it during her absence. When Kranendonk returned and asked her grandmother whether she really wanted to die, Stegemann’s reaction was heartbreaking. “I’m supposed to die on Friday? They want to kill me on Friday?”, she reportedly asked through tears. Her family says she later repeatedly expressed regret, telling them she had made a …Higit pa

Mexican Bishop Hops Left and Right Before the Altar: Bishop José Leopoldo González González, 71, of San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico, hopped and danced in liturgical vestments, including his mitre, during Emaús 2026. The diocesan gathering brought together more than 5,000 young Catholics on 23–24 May in San Miguel el Alto, Jalisco. González explained that a young man had told him the dance was simple—“one step to the right and another to the left” - and joked that he had “fallen into the trap.”
During Emaús 2026 in San Miguel el Alto, Bishop José Leopoldo González González drew attention for his energetic participation with young people during the activities and Mass.
Second fall: Having succumbed to the subtle trap set by the Freemasons within the conclave, Pius XII’s successor set about subverting the entire conclave, an operation which succeeded, since the conclave in question continued against all expectations. Let us not forget, indeed, that the enemies of the Church have long dreamed of substituting a false pope for the true one, and thereby, without anyone noticing, causing the whole Church to fall into Apostasy. Their manoeuvre succeeded on 26 October 1958, and not only did the successor to Pius XII fall, but all the cardinals of the conclave fell in turn. Indeed, to have a false pope, it was necessary to turn a true conclave into a false one, and that was the conclave2. (Source: first comment)
Hiroshima must remain forever in humanity's memory as a warning, not a precedent. Behind that explosion lay lives, families, dreams, and generations scarred by a pain that should never be repeated. No conflict, ideology, or pursuit of power can justify such a tragedy. May the memory of Hiroshima help us understand that, given our capacity for self-destruction, peace, dialogue, and reason are not merely options—they are a responsibility we owe to humanity and to generations yet to come. Never again a nuclear war.
Early August already brings shelves of sinister Halloween imagery. Sir Christopher Lee once warned against dabbling in the occult. The Church has always known better. All Hallows Eve belongs to the saints, not to the enemies of God. A short reflection on what Satan can only ape, and how Catholics can take the holy day back.

The Lord Jesus cursed some cities of Galilee (Mt., XI, 20-24; Luke, X, 10-16) for their unbelief; as then in Judea, shortly before being killed, he also cursed Jerusalem as unfaithful and ready for Deicide (Mt., XXIV, 15; Luke, XIX, 43). Certainly Jesus did not desire the supreme spiritual evil, that is, the eternal damnation, of the unbelieving Jews of Galilee and Judea; in fact, it would have been seriously illicit and sinful; however, He asked for a certain material evil for them, but always for their conversion; as well as even asked for a punishment or a certain temporary and initial – spiritual evil of unfaithful Judaism, as long as it was not definitive and absolute, but rather so that it would serve as a moral lesson to him and spur him on to a greater spiritual good and true conversion (S. THOMAS AQUINAS, S. Th., II-II, q. 76). In the Gospel (Mt., both objectively and materially, exclaiming: “Woe to you ...!”. This is the objective or material curse. Furthermore, Jesus did not …Higit pa

Apart from a small, red recording light on the frame of some models, many people may not realise they’re being filmed. Experts warn the new wave of AI technology could be smart glasses with built-in facial recognition, which could access personal information and increase the risk of identity theft.'
