Dvaja domorodí ľudia pristúpili k duchovenstvu v svätyni, vrátane prítomného biskupa, a v očistnom geste na nich rozfúkavali dym zo svätých rastlín (sladká tráva, céder, šalvia a tabak). Nasledovala modlitba k štyrom svetovým stranám a veriaci sa obrátili do každého smeru, než sa pomodlili k „Stvoriteľovi“. Potom pokračovala omša podľa Novus Ordo. Počas modlitieb veriacich sa vykonali aj rituály s perami.
